Quartier III/2 – 8,804 square meters of history and the future at one exclusive location

The Quartier III/2 properties on offer are positioned directly in Dresden's old city and in the immediate vicinity of the Frauenkirche between Rampische Strasse, Landhausstrasse, and the main building of the renovated neo-renaissance police headquarters, which was rebuilt in 2003/2004. An extension of the headquarters was added in 1977, but this was removed again in 2005.

Mixed use as a residential, service, and business location is planned for the reconstruction. One special feature of the reconstruction will be the rebuilt Palais Hoym as the main stylistic building, which will complete the series of other palaces in Dresden's old city that have been reconstructed and successfully utilized, for example the Taschenbergpalais, the Coselpalais, and the Kurländer Palais. Until its destruction in 1945, Palais Hoym was one of the most splendid baroque buildings in the city. Its hall and expansive courtyards will be especially useful for a variety of applications.

The design concept – urban planning

The streets and plazas of historical city plans will serve as the basis of the reconstruction.

In terms of urban planning, the reconstruction of Dresden's Neumarkt presents a variety of opportunities to connect cultural engagements with commercial construction interests. Evidence of this is provided by the surrounding quarters that have already been completed. Quartier III/2 also features a mix of residential and commercial possibilities that meet modern requirements. An underground garage is planned for the complete area of the quarter, which will enable one or more participants to integrate their construction plans into the overall concept of the reconstruction. Projects that have already been developed at the Neumarkt provide a good indication of what is possible.

The prominent location between the Frauenkirche, Rampische Strasse, and Landhausstrasse as a main point of access to the Neumarkt represents an optimal connection and offers high potential for successful business placement. The areas around this are mainly designated for mixed traffic.
